The Scribble Diary - A Review

"Scribble.  Doodle.  Draw ~ Create a visual record of your day..."

If you haven't done it yourself, you've most likely heard of writing in a diary and now online Blogging is the popular way to record ones thoughts and experiences.  But until now, I never really gave any thought to putting my ideas down in an illustrative form.

The Scribble Diary by Lisa Curri is a cute little book that gives simple picture-prompts that encourages you to fill in your feelings and recent activities - with colour, lines, scribbles or whatever - there's no rules!

This book is an imaginative and wonderful tool to help you get those feelings out.  It can also be useful for:
  • the classroom:  teachers can use exercises from THE SCRIBBLE DIARY to get shy students out of their shell, to help ease the transition for new students, as well as students who face learning disabilities or difficulty speaking English
  • hospitals and other mental health facilities: counselors and psychologists can use THE SCRIBBLE DIARY to engage their patients, and help express their thoughts
  • summer camps and after-school programs: let the imaginations of children roam free as they decorate the pages from THE SCRIBBLE DIARY
·        And much much more!

About Lisa Currie:
Seven years ago, Lisa Currie started the Scribble Diary website as a small project to capture the works of some of her favorite illustrators. Curious about how others would respond to these artistic responses, Currie posted the scribbles and since then, the Scribble Diary has grown worldwide as people continue to post their own wacky, hilarious, out-of-this world creations. Now her blog, thescribblediaryproject.blogspot.com, gets up to 4,000 hits a day!

This looks like so much fun! I found smash books recently. They are so neat. This looks similar.

Sounds very interesting. I might have to try this with my grandchildren.
